Call us

available from 7pm-7am from 16th January - 16th March.

We don’t have call display, so we can’t see what number you‘re calling from nor can we find out. However, if you don’t have any credit on your phone, you can leave us your number and we can call you back. Calls cost the same as calling any 020 number, i.e. free in most cases but can incur charges dependent upon your contract.

Email Us

available anytime from 16th January - 16th March. Answer within 48h.

Our email service automatically strips your email address from the email, so we cannot see your email address. However, please be aware that the service will not remove any footers or signatures at the bottom of your email.

Skype us

available from 7pm-7am from 16th January - 16th March.

Calls from Skype go straight through to our phones like any other call – we can’t tell if a call comes from a phone or from a computer.

Anonymous and absolutely private

Talk about your situation without having to reveal anything more than you wish to.

Volunteers do not tell other students that they work for Nightline and keep things absolutely private. Read more about this in our Confidentiality Policy.

We are independent

We are affiliated with the National Nightline Association, but we are not officially part of ARU or CU. This independence is central to our confidentiality and non-directivity and makes Nightline available to everyone.

We are here to talk about whatever is on your mind. We keep everything you say confidential.

The chat is completely private and anonymous. You don't have to reveal anything more about yourself than you wish to.

We're here to listen, not to judge or lecture.

Although we are also an information service, we are not an advice service. However, we can help you talk things through.

Volunteer with Us

Volunteering with Nightline is a challenging but rewarding experience.

We look for volunteers who are able to listen to the concerns of callers, show empathy, and provide emotional support. We recruit new volunteers twice per year, in October and February. February 2018 applications are now closed.
